DECAMERON

This collection was a study of the history of this queer individual and the concept of the queer found family. The Decameron collection creates a narrative that plays on the original Decameron story by Boccaccio — a group of queer found family flee persecution and turmoil to go live on their own off in the country. In our narrative, a queer cult forms, in which lays the groundwork for the historic genealogy of queer community throughout time. Themes from the medieval and Early Renaissance are prevalent visually as an homage to the Boccaccio manuscript; as well as themes of the 19th Century interpretation and obsession with the medieval aesthetic.
